I am considering getting a premium account. If you have or had one, please tell me wether you are happy with it, regret buying it, and just your general opinion on this point. Thank you.Smile

Also, what exactly is "chess mentor"?

Which one should I get? Gold, platinum, or Diamond?

erik

i regret mine. WAY too expensive...

oinquarki

I have a premium membership and it's definently worth the $3.99 a month.

MapleDanish

Lol @ erik.

Dude... they offer a satisfaction guaranteed thingamajig ... There's your 'swing vote'.

Definitely worth it!

Eniamar

I'm pretty happy with mine, I've been paying for chess mentor for a year now and I don't yet feel ripped off by it, especially since the price changes mean cutting out 1 fast food meal a month pays for it.

And I know how Erik feels, I once earned the super VIP access to a casino. It wasn't exactly a good year to be lucky.

kco

Yes, yes, yes go for it.

Chamb

I am happy with mine.  Money well spent imo.

NLA

This website is definitely worth the cost of a subscription.

It has everything you need to keep improving.

To think I wasted years on other websites that only have Forums and CC Chess.

I would suggest you get Platinum or Diamond memberships.

Mm40

In one word: yes.

With any level, you get so much for such a small amount. Beware, you may ending up becoming to addicted.

LATITUDE

The best Chess site on the planet. Hands down baby.

Lol

If you want Chess Mentor, then you'll probably have to shoot for Platinum or Diamond; either way, I've heard it totally boosts your game.

If you like being on this site, then definitely try Platinum first. All of the benefits will amaze you! And this is coming from a Gold Member!

It's worth it.Laughing

Narz

I would have gone for gold but I wanted to create multi-tiered tournaments.

I'm still waiting for chess.com user games to be added back to the game explorer...

kissinger

It's a great investment, i plan on upgrading to the highest premium....I hope the site doesn't go belly up like AIG or Citibank...I don't want to see Erik or other staff on TV asking Congress for a bailout  LOL

earltony15

it depends on how many of servies you will utilize.  check out what you get for the different services and see which is most appropriate.

TonicoTinoco

I was seriously considering to buy the Platinum membership but then a guy in another topic said I'd lose the nude girls ads that come with the free version... lol Tongue out

jootoo

it is one of my great and correct decision to be the lifetime diamond member, I enjoy it so much, and I am happy that I could contribute to the growth of chess.com, I will still feel happy after 25 years, at that moment chess.com has 20 million members.

Simendo

If you have the money i will recommend you to get Diamond. I am soon going to get this for myself. Chess Mentor is really good. It can teach you so much. By the way. Gold membership is also really nice to have.

And you help Erik and the staff to make this page even better(is it possible?;)
