No, it wasn't a dog, it was a chess.com usere. I forgot his name now.

But don't feed the sock puppets after midnight...

No, the one I'm thinking of had floppy ears.

Thanks for the link flags, after reading that I am now almost certain that the dog is a sock puppet, not a real dog.
