In my opinion, the best way is to not get involved too much in the forums, and only post when you actually need to. That way, less enemies are made and therefore a happier chess.com life.

sorry, you changed your avatar and I thought you were a different person. If you listen and warn the person to block, and then block is fair. I don't think blocking because you don't agree on something is fair. Again, can you please elaborate

In almost four years here, I have blocked one person, and that was due to play, not forum talk.
If one starts a thread that is ripe to be spammed, maybe look in the mirror. Creating topics like this are asking for argument. OP, you may state that your "rules" are your opinion, but that's it.
