I'm glad this site got rid of david as a mod, he was very toxic/combative/bigoted. Good move.
The moderators

There are lots of miscreants that are convinced various mods are tyrants.
Usually they fall into that snowflake category that thinks that free speech rights on a chess forum is a thing .

personnally i have had one bad experience from a cc moderator ,this in over ten yrs on the site i think it was acting in haste that caused it , i had replied to a thread on charlie hebdo and replied to someone posting islamaphobic posts , i got banned the reason a racist post
it took a bit of work but eventually i got cc to realise it wasnt me but the person i was replying to who posted the racist post
as an apology i got a years free subscription , its a good site and at times mistakes are made but they can be overturned and the harm done is minimised , gotta say though this present cc moderator staff are doing a good job from what ive seen
Many thanks Tom , we are here to give of our best!

He seemed like a nice guy every time I talked to him. I don't ever recall him being toxic or biogoted. He was a just a little opinionated at times.
If I remember correctly, I think he left the position cause he was kinda tired of it.

He definitely could take a joke and didn't seem on a high horse at all.

Maybe I misread him. He could be a good guy but our only encounter was all I had to go on & it was during the riots. He was threatening to mute people telling them they were wrong & he was right, like he was commanding people to agree with him. Keep in mind he's on the other side of the planet & wasn't actually witnessing any of it, he was getting all of his opinions from TV, not real life. The people who he was threatening weren't even saying anything bad they were just disagreeing with him. He just got on a bizarre power trip rather than being civil, rational, & logical. I'm sure it's very possible he's a good guy most of the time but on that occasion I don't think he was having a good night. But it's water under the bridge. I wish him well.
