I wanna defend my fellow Americans....but I can't. We're a country driven by egocentricity, so it should be no surprise that our chess players are a bunch of pretentious know-it-alls, whether they can back it up or not. Ignorant, arrogant egomaniacs with overly strong opinions and hypervigilant defense against any perceived slight.
On behalf of the few Americans who don't fall into that stereotype, we're sorry. Try living with them.
