Why did you choose your chess name - what's the best one you've seen?

There are some great names on Chess.com, so why did you choose your own name, and what are the ones that made you smile or wish you'd chosen for yourself? Some of them are very poetic.

I got mine from the Aunt Esther character on Sanford and Son.

That's a very scary photo. Does anyone realize where it comes from? I had to look up Sanford and Son.

Its my all time favorite TV show.  

Someone out there would guess my name. Its kindve a riddle, not really, but its special to me because this particular person is why Im into chess.

Mine is based on the UEF Kentauroi, an interceptor spacecraft from the game mod Blue Planet. Picture below. Avatar is also from that game.

I chose it because ImBrianandsoismywife was too long and almost illegible without low bars or hyphens.

My nick represents the bad-tempered Blue Emu villain of the Untalkative Bunny TV cartoon series.

I worked on that show as Leica Edit (that's cartoon-talk for "Choreographer").

I'm from New Zealand and I spent some years in Taiwan teaching English so I united the 2 countries Kiwi (NZ) and Tai for Taiwan.

Although maybe I could have called myself Taikiwi...

I have this name because I picked 21,000,000th and also because I adhere to a vegetarian diet.  When I play OTB my opponents may unexpectedly face one more weapon than an annoying fianchetto since after a day of beans, cabbage, broccoli, and brussel sprouts.... well....

I get to show off my geeky nature and I'm not sure that's a good thing. My username was an attempt to combine Star Wars and chess. So, in Star Wars, you had the astromech droid, R2D2, so... My favorite username is penguingm1. I assumed Andrew Tang took up that name because he was a Batman fan, but in one of his videos, he commented he simply liked penguins. I thought that was the sweetest and most honest reason for a username I've ever heard.
