theres proffessional stalkers!? wow how do i get that job? how easy would that be, just folowing osomeone around, calling a strange hours, breathing heavily into their phone while playing 1920's american bandstand music in the background, taking photos of their children and sending them to the parents with notes saying "i cant wait for thier birthday" and "watching them grow up is so painful, i must stop the pain" wow what a great life...all because i posted my pics on chess.com  who cares about facebook the largest social network in the world, all the REALLY strange freaks hangout on a chess sites....

I know what you mean. I put a pixs of myself everyone just wants to talk not play. A lot of them are guys so I soo know what you mean.

I personally do not mind posting an image just because I don't mind.

I also think that people above a certain rating should have to prove their rating if they have an offline one. it would help reduce the cheating amount, required images might help for people above lets say 2600 or so.

Guess it depends on the age too. I'm 19 and if people want to think about me in weird unmentionable ways then so be it, but it's not like anyone could do anything to me.

Any stalker worth their salt would never rely on a public forum photo, that may or may not bear any resemblance to the individual of interest. Photo, no photo?  Your choice, and your life. You may choose to engage in the social aspects of the Internet, or remain off the grid, to the extent possible. However, if you wish not to draw attention to yourself in this age, it would be best to have a typical exposure level on the Internet.  Without such exposure, you become of interest to many agencies, who view you as a statistical outlier, and suspect of a person with nefarious intentions.
