Why does blocking do so little?

Report yourself wonderwoman. Pretending to be a woman online is just freaking creepy.

If someone is bugging you unpurpose report them. That's what I did. Sometimes blocking isn't enough. Some men on here are just so immature. I say men because I have never had a problem with a woman on here just men and mostly men from india oddly enough.

yes the ones from India have got worse this last 6-12 months. I put it down to more internet access in that country, amongst other things of course.

Well, right. There are a lot of people in India which could explain for large amounts of both good and bad comments coming from them. It's not necessarily some "bad Indian gene" they have. Which you seem to agree with, so that's good.

It corroborates my experience in live chess. I've encountered the most arrogant players and the most cheaters from India (it seems like it, at least), but I've also encountered the sweetest people from India too,  whom I sometimes make chess.com friends with right after a few games. I think I just encounter Indian players the most often, besides Americans.

You and them are quite a bunch after all.

bravo my white knights , you are doing an excelent job.

for the op , this is the internet , so i would love to show you how not to read what you dont like , if you are a nazi who wants to censure everyone because you cant handle something an anonymus person posted you should simply go to a shrink to see whats wrong with you.

Thanks for insulting Indian people. Reported.

I think it should be noted, though, that Facebook's blocking system works in the way I proposed. If you block someone, they have no way of seeing anything you post. It's as if you didn't post at all. And conversations get along just fine on there.

I agree with that system.

This is not Facebook, unfortunately I have idiots I blocked make fun of any posts of mine all the time, everytime I ask a question in forums these same 2 guys harrass me...Reported and both are blocked, yet they can somehow stalk me..I asked a simple chess related question and they wont stop.Frown

Indeed. I sympathize with the OP.

Which is why I had created a topic on this myself. Heh. Albeit for different reasons.

As it is, though FB has this useful feature, it is useless on this site.  I guess you just have to have more accountability in what you post or report people as you see fit. Neither are permanent solutions nor are they "bugs".

Avatar of najdorf96

Maybe, like any other non-branded social site, to each their own. Badlands come to mind. Heh.

It's a curiosity I never come across posters like wonderwoman or the OP. It would be cool.

Indeed. I guess I don't spend that much time in forums other than whatever "hot topic" there is or just simply on threads I happen to be following.

You're going to run into people that you'd rather not, or some you're painfully familiar with, and mostly those you've come to know as "friends".

Why block anybody?
