You want your king and queen with certain relationships with the knight, so the knight will take 3 moves to attack the piece. For example directly touching the knight on the same line or with 2 spaces between it and the knight on the same line.
If you practice it, it is an easy win from any position where you are not about to lose the queen, as mentioned. Below a certain rating it could be difficult, particularly without practice.
