It was one of the ways for White to mate in 4 from the initial array. Can White make a mate in 3? What about mate in 2?

it’s the culmination of the Kings Knight Attack opening i envinted a few years back.

it goes 1.Nh3 e6 2.Nf4 Ne7 3.Nh5 and black tries kicking the knight then with g6.

because Kh1 stalemate

When the black king goes to h1, white takes the pawn and it's stalemate.

(#452)  Once you've found the win for Black, you could try finding the three knight moves that draw if White moves first.

Interesting mate in 24. There's also a mate in 13.

In this one, you might want to look for White's only first move to win.  (It's not Kf2.)

I don't see how anyone would find a mate in 2 when you can just promote into a queen and check check check mate
