I’m 25 and I just started playing chess during this pandemic! Wish I would have started soon 🤧🥴

Well, hopefully you'll stay playing once the panic has lifted. happy.png

Hey gang.  So I'm in my 40s and just recently got more serious about my chess, even though I've been playing since I was a kid.

If anyone is an adult working on improving their game (what the chess world calls "adult improvers"), send me a friend request.  I also started a Chess.com club, which is pretty new and not very active.  The Vintage Patzers

I hope to hear from you!

Cheers,

Bonez.

I am an adult beginner...look what happened against expert kids! https://www.chess.com/blog/Abemo/the-pathetic-patzer

Just turned 69 today (10/23/20), so I might be the old man of the group now. Hey, I've been an adult improver for the last 50 years. Love the game, have a bunch of books, keep about 5 daily games going at all times, do tactics a lot, and study master games.  And I have yet to get to the point of "good" player.

But, hey, love of the game is what it's all about. No matter how high you climb, there's always somebody above you. Is and always has been my favorite hobby.

I’m 31 and want to get more into chess. Hoping to improve my rating. Anyone up for 1 day per move games to accommodate work etc..?

@MSteen:Happy Birthday, don't party too Hardy.

@Birdietime: I feel your pain about that, I do Daily Chess as I drive a Truck for a living and don't always have the time for a "Live" game.

Send me a challenge and I can accommodate. happy.png

Happy Birthday! Today is also my birthday (the big 50) and was my grandmother's birthday, perhaps the last person around who thought I was a gift happy.png

I am in my mid 60s and started to get serious about chess around 6 months ago having only been a social player and not playing at all for 2 decades. So I joined chess.com. Got told in one of the forums I would never break 1200 because age was against me.  I focused on 2 openings and 2 defences which seemed to suite my play style and am now pushing 1700. My focus is analysing my games intensely and getting blunders and mistakes down to zero. (still working on that but numbers getting better)If I could afford it I would get a tutor. Might drop hints about good birthday presents...happy.png.
