best move according to analysis???

Hey everyone,
just a quick question. After analysing my above posted game, the computer analysis lists 6. Qd7 as a mistake (I do get that it is a rather senseless move that doesn't really help the game) but rather suggests exd4 as the best move.
Why is this a good move? I gain a pawn and surely loose one, and I frankly don't see any advantage in this move. Could somebody please explaine that to me?
