hello.

i started playing correspondence games with long time (15 days) in the hope of learning to analyze. what is the best method? e.g. should I write in a notebook all the possible variations I can get in the position at best of my ability and write each one of them down until the point I cannot see anything anymore  with strategical evaluation or what else? e.g. studying games with the same opening I am playing and/ or opening books? I am a beginner. my biggest concern is variation calculation and evaluation of the position to find a plan. thanks.

I am a beginner as well. My biggest position to find a plan is (same opening) but not attacking till the formation is compete even if it means compromising some of my pieces. This way I know where I am with my starting line compared to the opponent. I have found it difficult to keep my plan going with such a disadvantage only at the beginning of the game. Because I have found that this plan helps you strengthen your play with only Pawn and King

try it out you might find a new way to play from a different piece other than the Queen or Bishop
