As a former 800 player(few weeks ago or smth), you shouldn't study openings, focus on tactics.

Yes!!!

Scotch game is a great opening despite of rating, but specially for beginners since it tends to lead to open games where you get to develop your tactical sense!

Memorizing lines shouldn't be your focus, though... try to understand the ideas and themes behind the opening so you can apply to your games. Learn opening principles so you know what to do when your opponent plays a move that you're not expecting and practice your tactics and in no time you'll be 1000

Its good for every level honestly

don't learn a lot of 30+ moves deep lines, learn some of the most common lines while understanding them and make sure to study the ins and outs of the 4... Qh4 line, if you don't know the theory for this line then you can't play the Scotch
