Stuck at 600 elo

Hey, I’m stuck in the 600 elo range and i just got back into chess last month. I could either win games or go on a horrible losing streak. My accuracy is typically 70+ unless it’s a horrendous game, and my game ratings are averaging around 1000, but I always end up getting beaten by someone who’s the same rating as me which makes me think i’m not improving at all. is there a quickfire way to improve? i’m also willing to link some of my past games here for reviewing

Analyze your games.
Study games of strong players.
Learn how to be more psychologically resilient.
Work on your time management skills.
Get a coach if you can.

by knowing the basics i think you can get to 1000 maybe even 11-12 hundred easily

Butter6920 is right, work on your basic habits and you will improve. I looked at one of your games and it looks like basic hanging pieces, basic tactics and end games were an issue. Chesbrah Basic Habits is working for me. It helped me improve my in game habits and they are by no means perfect, but I tilted down to your rating then up over 900 in the last few weeks. I started the habits after the tilt. That is a blitz peak for me. I think we all blunder lots at low Elo so the habits minimize that greatly.

It's the same story as a lot of players in the 600 range. The quickfire way to improve is to make blunder checking each turn a habit. Do you take time to review your games before moving onto the next?

Yes. Learn how to play chess. If man must come to forum and ask how can he improve chess it means he cannot play chess. he must become man first. Boris suggest before each game you put living scorpion in your underwear. It will not help chess but I just want you to do it.

First of all, you have to discover your biggest weaknesses in the game and start working on them. The most effective way for that is analyzing your own games. There is a built-in engine on chess.com which can show you if a move is good or bad but the only problem is that it can't explain to you the plans, ideas behind the moves, so you won't know why it is so good or bad.

In my opinion, chess has 4 main areas (openings, strategies, tactics/combinations and endgames) and if you want to improve efficiently, you should improve all of these skills almost at the same time. That's what my training program is based on. My students enjoy the lessons because they cover multiple aspects of chess in an engaging and dynamic way, keeping the learning process both stimulating and efficient. Of course, there are always ups and downs but this is completely normal in everyone's career.

I looked at three of your recent losses. All were lost for the same reason. You simply gave away too much material. In one game in which your opponent gave you a queen in the first 5 moves, you later gave away a queen, a knight, and a bishop. In another game, your opponent gave you a knight. However, you later gave away a knight and a queen.

How to improve? Play slower time controls so you can avoid giving away so much material. After you fix this, you can work on basic opening and middlegame principles.

Nah....OP needs to do simple tactical exercises until he gets the dry heaves, concentrating on 1 and 3 ply problems, especially 1 ply( find the loose piece) problems. His game can only be fixed by solving simple tactical errors first, everything else is secondary. Next, dude needs to stop asking for tips and start getting to work, there is more than enough free, organized, material online and at this site to get ANYONE from complete novice to a minimum of 1400 elo. People need to stop asking the same questions about "how to improve" and start doing the work required.

chess com is just full of double accounts with 1000+elos playing at sub 300. It aint worth the hassle.

Don't be stuck on doing chess puzzles, but do either one or all of these:

1. Chess Lessons

2. Chess Videos

3. Join Chess Classes

4. Analyze Top-Player (GM, FM, IM, FGM, FIM) games

5. Analyze your mistakes.
