Why Endgames Matter More Than Anything Else in Chess

Hello Team,

Today is Endgame Training Day – and I want to stress this: don’t skip it. Endgames will shape your chess understanding more than anything else.

🔹 Training Plan

• Start with the first 10 endgames – work until you fully understand the moves and explanations.

• Continue with Rook Endgames → 20 puzzles here.

• Wrap up with a few blitz games (3–5 min). No rapid today – classical is fine if you prefer.

🔥 Student Highlights

• Adytia G – Top puzzle streak: 50 in a row, puzzle rating 2603. All ratings in green – outstanding!

• Jake – +520 points in 80 days → now 1200 rapid.

• Aidan – Broke into 4-digit rating.

• Bratislav – +150 points in 30 days.

• Imran – +350 points in 90 days.

• Kyle – +150 points recently. His stats show a 3200 puzzle rating (better than mine!).

• Reyanash – Still our top player: 2200 rapid on Chess.com, 1800 OTB USCF.

I’m proud of each one of you. Personally, I’m also pushing forward – very close to my 2300 blitz goal.

• Keep booking your lessons regularly (90% of you are already doing this).

• Train at least 1 hour per day – consistency beats talent.

• Share with me:

  • Your rapid rating goal

  • Your puzzle rating goal

  • Your plan for one OTB tournament
