You can use these tools in Daily games (though not computer engine analysis). Its not allowed in other formats, bullet rapid, etc. Personally, I have mixed feelings. If like me, you mainly play Daily, then it can become a crutch and your calculation skills may weaken. On the other hand if you play a mix of formats, including longer time control rapid, then I dont see an issue, as you will have plenty of opportunities to exercise those grey cells.

What is everyone's opinion on using the analysis tool in game to explore opening lines and to work through positions before submitting a move? In my poker life, this feels like a similar tool to the HUD, which gives you all kinds of statistics for your opponents and helps you find exploitive lines. But neither the HUD nor the chess analysis tools are available when you play the games live so I wonder if they can't become something of a crutch? Should we be practicing doing what these tools externalize in our minds?
