Brilliant.
Cylindrical Board Theorem

it will be hard to do a checkmate if the king can go to the other side of the board
you must simply checkmate on the last or first ranks

Nxa7 isnt checkmate because the king can take the knight
An egregious error! i have corrected it.
You've heard about the spherical earth.
Now prepare to learn about the cylindrical board.
Let's look at a chess board.
What does it look like?
Flat right?
Well, you're wrong.
You see, for thousands of years, people thought the Earth was flat just because it looked flat.
But now it is common knowledge that the earth is indeed, spherical.
Here is a revolutionary hypothesis:
The chess board is a cylinder.
How do you store a chess board?
Rolled up.
Think about that.
Some may argue that this is to save space in the bag.
But those people are trying to cover up the truth.
Some argue chess imitates life.
Are we confined to an 8x8 box?
No.
We are free to roam around, to go in circles.
So why aren't the pieces too?
You may ask "why not a spherical board"
well then in the starting position:
The kings would be attacking each other, and that doesn't make sense does it?
In my spherical board theory, pieces that move off of one side would go to the other.
For example:
in this position, white can play Nxa6#, as the knight jumps around the cylindrical board.
Another example:
in this position, white can play h7, black is not in stalemate as he can play ka7, and after kg7, wins after h8 = Q.
here is a prototype cylindrical chess board I found somewhere
In conclusion: the time for 2d chess is over
3d chess is the future.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
