I'm really beginning to like this sort of puzzle. Well, this one I made up myself: Legal or illegal?

not actual

Hmm... Interesting. I would probably say legal... Or once again it could be legal. However, you wouldn't see that in a normal game lol Laughing

I would say it is Illegal :)

Yes, it is possible (see below), I also think quicker solutions are a certainty:

A nice problem indeed, I liked to solve it. It gives a nice oppertunity to think analytical about a problem.

My answer is that this position is possible:

If black plays his g pawn to g3, hxg3, and the white rook evacuates, the black h pawn can promote to a queen, not needed per se. Then the queen goes to the b3 square, and axb3, again the white rook evacuates, so the black a pawn can promote to a queen. The rest is quite easy, the black pawns let themselves be taken by the remaining white pawns a line closer the to left, if you know what I not very tactfully express. The queen goes to b4 and the rest of the pieces can go to their places.

Awesome! Yes, the position is legal, and can be reached in the way underpromotion just explained. Also, PrawnEatsPrawn has posted a proof game. There will almost certainly be a Part 3 to this when I get a chance to post it :)
