Nikolic-Arsovic, Belgrade 1989, drawn after black's 269th move ( 20 hours and 15 minutes ; rook and bishop against rook ; seven scoresheets ).

The longest decisive game is Stepak-Mashian, Israel 1980, a win for white in 193 moves and 24 hours 30 minutes.

OK let's discuss who is awesomer, knights or bishops.

Avatar of math26

I say knights, because they have their own unique move that even the queen can't do. and bishops can only get on half of the squares on the move.

The longest chess game ever was actually Rybka (Computer) vs. Hikaru Nakamura (Human). Nakamura won the game by checkmate on the 271st move, see it here: http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1497429
