Because I'm bored. Ran out of good authors i like to read.
I'm 81. Been playing since 1952 . . .
I don't like much on tv. Getting to old to bowl a lot.
I'm writing my memoirs. I'm actually bored with chess.
I teach beginners at the library. . . I like that . . .

Is this a philosophical question? Hope not. I play chess for recreation. It's fun and keep boredom away.
