Especially weird since the evaluation does not change much when you play the "briliant" moves.
Evaluation is based on current position and next best available move(s). It will not go up ever when you play a move, only stay the same or go down if a less than optimal move is played.

Brilliant moves are not always the best moves.
Brilliant moves can be the engine's second or third or, heck even fourth choice. It has to be an excellent move that is also a sacrifice. Some sacrifices may be the best move but not a brilliant mvoe.
Some previously book moves, such as the Legal trap and Fried Liver attack, are now brilliant; the latter probably gave me another 100 brilliant moves during the update.

It's not Stockfish. It is chess.com's own script, which uses the evaluations provided by Stockfish. And the formula is secret.
