I was in a 4/4 game in Live chess, (I think that's how it's written) and I was playing a guy 1 rating point below me (800 vs. 799) Please analyse this game. He timed out at the end, show how it should finish. Thx!

2...f6 is called the damiano's opening.  here's how it could have played out ;)

11.Bc4? just ruins your pawn structure. 11. d4 is better

23. Ned4????????  is bad. a piece is worth tons more than an "isolated pawn"

just a few tips.

The_Brain9

9. a3 is more usual because if 9...a4 (attacking the bishop) then 10.Ba2 and the bishop is safe on a good diagonal.

11. Bc4 was not the best move. There is no need to play it as it ruins your pawn structure and wastes a move.

13. c3 doesn't seem very good. Like you said in your annotations, it lets him continue with his plans and hurts your pawn structure after 13...bxc3 14. bxc3. Better was 13. Ng3 where it would have continued 13...dxe4 14. dxe4 Qxd1 15. Raxd1 and following up with 16. Nf5 giving your Knight a good outpost there.

16. Nxc3 might have been better after 17. b3

19. Rxb6 wins  a pawn after 19...Nxb6 20. Rb1 Nd7 21. Rb5

23. Ned4? is not good as a Knight is worth more than 2 or 3 pawns in that sort of endgame, especially where his bishop will be better than your remaining Knight while you are fighting for material equality.

Hope this helps

Oh, the horror!! I will annotate on a diagram.

All of you seem to miss all the mate shots he had!Up until 10. Ne2, he continually had Nxe5!

23.Ned4 was a move intending to run the e pawn up and promote it. I was pressed for time. :( Can I have a continuation? BTW I think I won't forget this opening next time ;)

Please?
