Yes, I have found it a particularly helpful tool in analyzing a position. There have been a few times that I have worked out some beautiful forced combinations and a couple of mates. I have also used it with the tactics trainer when I failed the problem and did not understand the solution.

next year i'm going to give up using the analysis board for Lent.
For me it has been very useful , specially in those situations when one does not know what movement to do.

I've used it in the vote chess games. It's a definite ease on the mind when exploring multiple options.
I'm using it all the time. I forgot how real boards look like
I make a point of not using it -- I don't want to cripple my ability to analyze positions OTB.
