And by the way I was white

9.Ng5 was a blank threat. Black castles and it no longer serves any threat there, rather it weakens your pawn center which is now loosely guarded and eventually he kicked you back and won a pawn with the tempo.

14.Qf3 and 15...Qd1. Clearly your planning and development were horrible here. Why have you not even castled yet? That move is guaranteed to have some value in this position, the moves you mindlessly made turned out to have none.

After 18. Nxg4 with his e4 pawn ready to break through, you should not feel comfortable immediately castling, where he can now fork the 2 rooks with either his pawn reaching e2 or knight on e3. It was necessary to kick him back first with 19. h3.

Any further analysis is useless since you are now down a piece and the position is lost.

D5 was a mistake due to Ne6, losing either your bishop or knight. I won't comment on NG5 because everyone else has. D5, aside from losing a piece, also makes that light bishop a terrible piece. Qf3 just about loses the game after Bg4 where your queen will have to go to the abyss and the knight can come in and take the pawn or take advantage of the pin on the E file. Castling needed to happen about 3 moves prior to this.

Instead of qd1, I like castle queenside. E3 was a good move from him, your best move was Rd4 but your position becomes difficult, still, can equalize. F3 was a mistake, Ne2 was best, loses the exchange but not a full piece.

There's no guarantee you would win with H4 as he may have played differently. Sorry I had to split up my explanations. I'm on mobile.
