Are you saying then I should have asked for advice on this game in one of my eisting threads? If so, which thread would that be?

Any of your existing threads, it doesn't matter. :)

23.Bxe5 is an easy one.

24.Rd5 is another.

It's a troll game in any case.

But isn't taking a rook better than taking a knight, since a rook is worth 5 points and a knight only 3?

Also, do you gusy think I would have done better in that game if I had played 1. d4 instead? I'm thinking about switching up my openings.

i think you should play 1 nf3.  then 2 d4

Ah, knight openings. I've been looking at those as well. I'm thinking about trying out 1. nc3 2. c4. I'm not sure what the opening is called, but it seems solid, and looks like it could be fun. Have you played that particular opening before, and how do you think it compares to the one you recommended?

Na3 is, among all the moves white can make in his first turn, the one that scores the best according to the database. You should give it a try.

To the OP, why did you resign? it was a perfectly ok position.

Yep, he shouldn't have resigned; White was definitely winning...

 This is 1-minute chess.

See post #22.

So it seems the consensus is that at the time I ran out of time, the game was still far from decided. If that's the case, then assuming that time is not an issue, what would be the best way for me to continue?

Simple. Just make noncommital king moves and wait for your opponent to drop his queen and three pawns. Piece of cake...

not noncommital, just march the king towards the opponent pawns on the right. Gotta keep in mind the basics of endgame play

Yeah, you're right. Or attack the queen... Wink

Thank you everyone for your generous advice on my game! I definitely feel that I am learning a lot from all of the comments, and I will try to put what I have learned to practice in my future games.

Now, if you don't mind, I have another game that I would like to receive some advice on. It's a fairly short game, so hopefully it won't take you guys too long to take a look at it.

As you can see, I lost the game. My general questions are the same as those for the previous game: what exactly did I do wrong, and how can I improve in the future?

I think the decision to play chess was probably the first error you made.

How about the Dunst?

That looks pretty wild... I'm not sure if I will be able to memorize all of the moves.

Also, what if black plays 2. ... d4?

Play it like a reversed King's Indian Defense, with a tempo more since you are playing White.

You let him take your queen, you did a lot of pointless moves. For somebody with a rating of 100 he did very good actually, even with that opening.

You put up a good fight, your opponent on the other hand brought out his queen on the 2nd move, which is a major violation of chess principles. I think your opponent was just lucky, keep doing what you do.
