Do u mean just logging into their account is not sufficient. They need to log into live chess specifically?
Yes.
During live analysis, I couldn't see my friend under friends tab although his name was there under my friends list on my home page. I, thus, couldn't invite him to the live private analysis. Could see other friends except the one whom I wanted to see(:
