CPU best move

Hey all,

I'm fairly decent at chess, but some of the AI's recommended moves just go over my head. Can anyone explain what's going on here and why it recommended knight to E5? Thanks!

Actually, 2. ... f6 is playable, but just barely. Black can meet 3. Nxe5 with 3. ... Qe7 recovering the Pawn.

But it still sucks.
