I was playing a game today against a very good player. I got a slight advantage and won a complicated endgame. do you have any tips how I should have thought in the endgame. I got really nervous because he set up all kind of threats.
I was a on the board tournament.

There's no end to posts in this forum that go like this: "Look at this game I won and tell me if there were any inaccuracies."

First: Congratulations. You played well.

Ok, now the humoring everyone part and analysis of the game.

I guess your question is why after winning a piece the game wasn't simple and easy to win. Well, you had to play ... f5 to win a piece and this gives your opponent open lines towards your king. Meanwhile your extra bishop wasn't defending anything around your king, so the attack and defense was even material. Once you dealt with the attack, the game did turn out to be pretty straightforward.

But, if you played even more accurate defense of the attack with the pieces you had, it wouldn't have been so stressful.

After 30. fxe4 you have to stop his rooks from coming to the seventh rank.

30. ... Rcd8 might have been a more straightforward way to do this.
