Another crazy one:

Wow, there are some insane tricks if Kh2 as you mentioned and then Rf7, trying to create a mating net later with h4 and f4 and Rh8. :)

¡¿Qué?!

Avatar of Pulpofeira

Ah, you mean the first one. I thougth it was a secondary effect on playing bullet.

That endgame, headache! Glad you managed to win it! Wink Tongue Out 36...bxa5 and because of Rxb7+, 35...Kg7 might be better, to hide on h6. :)

Avatar of Pulpofeira

Definitely better, I would have kept my c3 pawn too, thanks!

Here's a bit of endgame analysis of my own (sorry about center alignment):

Catastrophe in the opening!

40/0 time controls for this one, due to our busy schedule  :S

And I thought kids were good chessplayers.

#30, how does black win the rook? It's winning anyway, yes.

#31 - wow, nice tactic, I wonder if I'd spot it.

#33 - relaxing one :) I always like to play till the end if winning. 36.Qg7+ and 37.Rd5# :)

Damn, you are right! In the other one, I mean white wins the rook. Well, in the last one I wasn't feeling exactly happy. Wifey says, if I look upset, I must have a big advantage ("God knows why").

Avatar of Pulpofeira

Only one round remaining, a bit of drama awaits. ;)

Avatar of MSC157

Yes, sorry, how does white wins the rook? Isn't it protected by the pawn?

¡Joder, es verdad!

After his last move I offered a draw. The kid had been looking nervous for a while, it looked like he was afraid of spoiling the game. I was not afraid but sure I would eventually end spoiling it, so I considered it was the right moment to offer a draw. It looked ok for him, but first he took a glance to the only remaining game, between my old rivals kid 1 and kid 2, because he was leading with 6.5/8 and kid 1 was second with 6 points. The game seemed a dead draw, so he accepted. But later kid 2 blundered and lost, so #4 and #1 were sharing 1st place. They were equal after checking all breakpoint systems but the last one (more points as black), which gave the victory to kid 1. A pity!
