game report or own analysis

Sort:

Hello, i have question about analysis. What is more accurate. Game report, which show 'best move', "excelent move" etc..

or own analysis with lines?

RAU4ever

Well, if you're looking for accuracy then it's clearly the stronger chess player of the two, which nowadays would be the computer.

If you're looking to improve doing your own analysis is better, maybe with a blunder check from the engine at the very end to see if you missed something obvious.

I think we dont understand each other.

Here on chess.com i see two types of analysis. First is game report. Second is own analysis with lines. Both use engine, but i dont know what is more accurate.

The Game Review tells you your mistakes in the opening and in tactical sequences. However, it does not explain the long range plan or which of several plans is better. For this reason, self-analysis is, in my opinion, much better for improvement.

Game Review is better for less-experienced players, as it explains the basic ideas and the simple logic behind the critical moves.

Self-analysis is better for more experienced players who don't need moves or ideas explained to them - they just need to see the evaluation number and possible engine lines.
