High Level Game Analysis

Hello everyone!  This is my first post on chess.com.  Hopefully it will be the first of many.  This is a relatively high level game played in the 15 minute live time control.  It is not my finest game, but hopefully people can learn from some of my insights and mistakes.  Constructive criticism on how I can improve my posts are most welcome.  I learn a lot from analyzing my own games yet also wish to share my knowledge with all that can benefit from it. Thanks!

This game features very thematic pawn storms on both sides of the board in a line that is usually very tame.  Hope you enjoy it !

Excellent game, interesting analysis. And if there were improvements you could have made, then they're well beyond my understanding!

thanks for the feedback so far!  it seems like maybe I should cater material more towards a lower-level audience perhaps?  Less longer/concrete variations and more general strategies and thought-process analysis?  Please let me know.

Don't "dumb it down" for the lower rated players here.  I posted a game with "beginner" notes to it and got slammed by players who questioned the ratings of both players.  Post it like you see it; if there are comments from players who feel the for need clarification, then post them, but I think you are doing just fine here.

99.5% of the users of this site are a lower level audience ;)

I think your level of analysis is perfect and helpful (for me at least), and the variations interesting. More idea on your plans and thoughts at certain points would be very useful. After a few read throughs it does all make sense. You're a very advanced player though.

Do you ever play 1.c4 2. g3 as white, or 1.g6, 2. Bg7 as black at all? I'd like to see some of your ideas on those games.

Yes, it will give us something to do while waiting for our opposable thumbs to grow in.

My goals with these game analyses are:

1) to improve my own game; analyzing your own games is one of the best ways to develop as a player

but mostly:

2) to reach as many players as possible that may benefit from it

I'm glad that many of you are finding my relatively in-depth/advanced analysis helpful.  My question, however, is for those who aren't.  Are you at all benefiting from the variations I give?  I understand there is a point where the variations may seem simply overwhelming, especially if you are a less experienced player.  It is not really a question of "dumbing it down", more of me finding the right balance between conceptual and concrete, between giving definitive variations and more of the general strategies.  Of course it is possible to do both, but that is both extremely time consuming for me to make and readers to comprehend.  I'll keep working on it.

hi Jaue,

thanks for your posts, it's very helpful , especially your analysis

i have one question: you said that h3 wasn't too good(white), and my concern is , wouldn't be better to play h3 before castle's?
