Not sure why my opponent resigned. It was still early in the game. Anybody got any ideas?

Well they could move Knight to B1. Then they would be able to compensate for the lost piece.

Yeah, I saw Nb1 too-- protects material for that turn, at least, but leaves a pretty bad position.  Opponent probably wanted to get the a1 Rook out, and now it's boxed again, which leaves no chance of sliding the King over there for some protection.  I don't know if I would have resigned right at that point, but if I walked up to that board and was given a choice of which seat to take, I'd grab Black. Cool

Hmm...this same guy just resigned in another game against me. This time in 15 moves. If anybody is interested I will post that game as well.

no nb1 still loses material...just rxb+ and bxn

Then it will be a R for a N and pawn.
