When you face a weak opponent, don't you want to torture them since you know your going to beat them??  Here in this game I show you how to torture your opponent.  Im playing white and my opponent a 400 rated player is playing against me.  The game is right here look at the ending.  wink.png

That's how you torture.  Please comment a game of how you tortured someone.  wink.png

Personally I find it disrespectful to toy with an opponent the way the OP shows.

I don't.  There is a simple remedy called resigning.  If the opponent is that desperate for points that they never resign, they are happy to see a statemate chance like this.  If you only start this stuff when ridiculously won, everyone is happy.  You are happy to toy with someone that drags out chess games for no good reason and wastes minutes, and they are happy they get a chance at a few points.  I've been known to get a bunch of knights and spend time trying to figure out a checkmate.  Once in a while they get the last laugh when I stalemate them.  Which is why they played on.

Two things:

1. I find it disrespectful. Your opponent is staying in despite having only a nominal shot at a tie. They’re giving you the satisfaction of a checkmate, the least you can do is give them the satisfaction of a quick end. Additionally, it is rude to waste their time.

2. Putting four queens on the board and flying them around like you did is a good way to allow a stalemate if you’re not careful. Seriously, take the win on move fifty because then you don’t have to worry about a tie on move seventy.

Just remember that all these jerks who brag about torturing their opponents are simple feeble noobs in the eyes of strong players.

The OP is rated 1000, and lost in 8 moves to a 700 player.  So yea...like you said.  These types of posts are by the bottom feeders.

I find it funny when inexperienced players call people lower rated then them weak.

against a computer its fine, as a computer can play all day and has nothing better to do, but against a person is pointless.

Yea, I'd go along with that. Sometimes when I just want to "relax" and not think about moves, I'll play the chess game that came with the computer. It is really old. On level 1, it will take any piece it can, no matter what. The computer's Queen will take a pawn for no reason other than it can, and then lose the Queen. The challenge in this game is to try to take all of the computer's pieces while losing as few of my own. (Remember, the computer will take anything available.)

I would never do that to an opponent. If they are really much weaker, I would play the best moves available to me and try to end the game as soon as possible, hoping they might learn something from the way the moves were made. I'm pretty sure that's what GMs do when they play us mere mortals. Make the best moves so we can see how it's done . . . happy.png

Obviously, no GM, IM, FM, NM, or just plain decent chess player is going to waste a second of their time "torturing" a player rated hundred of points beneath them. That behavior, and the attitude that goes with it ,is the hallmark of the weak and inadequate

The person playing on might just be wanting to learn something; to see how their opponent mates them. I don't see any problem in that. I think people always have the right to play on and one never knows what their motive is; if your position is so strong just beat them quickly and efficiently.

i wonder why your curious to know how....

Your definition of " stronger player" seems seriously distorted. The kind of narcissistic noobs who boast about torturing their opponents, don't impress anyone but themselves and their mothers, and I would guess mom is only pretending to be impressed. Strong players don't "torture" their opponents, they mate them. Did you notice the OP's rating? Even a parakeet wouldn't be thankful for the opportunity
