How to get better at rapid?

play slower, check for obvious tactics from your opponent before you make the move. In rapid you also have to make sure you're thinking positionally as well.

*cries in 800 tactics* but thanks

Clearly your tactics rating isn't accurate

tactics, studying master games, and analyze your own games without an engine are some of the most universal ways to improve. Try and find your weaknesses from analyzing your games (compare your analysis with the comps if needed) so you know what to work on further

just take your time and make sure that each move is not a blunder. Then you start analysing games and opening prep when 1300-1400. I am now 1500 BTW

Get better at chess. Seriously. You can learn time management by playing a lot. But getting better at chess is the only way to actually get better at rapid. Don't try to max your rating based on your current abilities, improve your current abilities.

Excessive amounts of tactics will take u to the next level Nubby. Also if you want private lessons you can message me and we can do something.

I don't know if this may help but in a 15|10 game, I typically end the opening, or 12 moves around the 13:30 mark (around 3.5 minutes), I play the next 24 moves of the middlegame up to the 3:00 mark(around 15 minutes), and the rest of the endgame with the remaining amount of time.
For a 30 minute game, I play the opening first 12 moves within 6 minutes, 15 minutes for the next 24 moves of the middlegame, and the remaining 9 minutes for the rest of the endgame.
As for improving your skill, you can study middlegame fundamentals such as isolated center pawn theory, blockades, attacking theory, and more. Hope this was helpful!
I'm trying to get better at rapid, but I usually find myself having 17+ minutes on the clock at the end of the game (15|10), and I also end up makimg blunders, and mistakes
For example this game: https://www.chess.com/live#g=5226733790
The only reason I won was due to my opponent not being good at endgames
any tips,,
