Depending on the position
If the position is just filled with colliding pawns then the knight is better
If the position is clean then the bishop is better

knight is representing the liberalism, on the other hand bishop is representing conservative idea. because bishops always stay at their own color, on the other hand knight goes like L shape and we cant guess where knight goes.

"The weaker the player the more terrible the Knight is to him, but as a player increases in strength the value of the Bishop becomes more evident to him, and of course there is, or should be, a corresponding decrease in his estimation of the value of the Knight as compared to the bishop." - Capablanca

I like Knight best it is the spirit of subterfuge

yes knights can do good if it's the end game.

No, Knights are worse than bishops because bishops can take advantage of space on the board.

not in the endgame knights are useful for forks and mates and biships are for pins.

Knights are better because they can do good forks and capture queens

Knights are better than bishops as seen at the end of my game that I played today. Also if you can see on move 28 my knight and bishop got skewered and I decided to save my knight which is a good thing (also ignore the free queen miss on move 45 i am 600 elo)

It depends on the pawn structure

Avatar of DoktorFader

That's the general consensus yes.

Each piece is important in it's own way, knights are better in opening and middlegame, and bishops are better in endgame.

Depends. Generally the bishops, especially the bishop pair, give you an advantage over knights.

Only time a knight is better is if an immediate fork is on the board.

No. In closed positions, knights are better than bishops. "It depends on the pawn structure" is absolutely right.
