Please give me the old game review back. They did it for me and some other people ,months ago , when they first changed it and many complained about the new feature. Now I have again this "new" bad review. I can't understand why chess.com is degrading a wonderfully functioning rating system like this.

At that time it was mentioned that the revert was temporary. The new review was released to everyone now.

Platinum and Diamond have unlimited reviews

Please give us the OPTION and see who prefers what ORGANICALLY! I see the new review as having potential, especially for BEGINNERS. ADVANCED players who are used to the functioning of the system WE KNOW are PISSED and disapointed. It feels DISRESPECTFUL to shove this down our collective THROAT. LICHESS has been getting a lot more of my playtime now that this has happened. I paid for Gold in the past and it was worth it FOR the unlimited game review and lessons. WILL NOT PAY AGAIN and I will be having this discussion with every player I know! Please reconsider your stance!

WHY were my paragraph breaks auto-formatted out? Another bad feature that changes the style of my writing. 😡

RobinRound

For any STREAMERS that read this, let's organise and figure out a way to get you PAID and switch to LICHESS or anywhere else when the contracts expire! 😡

You can tell by the outpouring of public opinion and chesscomcs STUBBORN REFUSAL TO BEND that they don't give af about what we think. Accept constructive criticism! WE HATE IT!

I miss the old days when we had the best game review in the world!

The only real problem with the new version of the review for me is that it shows right away the answer to what you should have played when you played a bad move.
What's the point if it doesn't make you think and try to find yourself what you should have played instead of the mistake you made?

mercatorproject

V3 and the mentality behind it has a lot to answer for.

Totally agree! This is an upgrade for the worse. So many useful elements removed.
I lovet the "This is the XX opening - You've played this 1.000 times with a win percentage of 6%" (Theoretical numbers!! happy.png )
Please bring back the old game review draw

At my skill level I prefer the old game review tool. Can't say I am looking forward to reviewing my future games with the new update.

Not sure what the reason for the update was maybe an exercise in programming. It seems to me the old design does the same thing the newer version does. Sure the dialogue box is on top and a bit larger. The ilustration coach is larger and difficult to miss now. IMO the new layout doesn't seem to justify the re-design. The color coded legend is too large and wasting valuable real estate on the webpage. Thinking back I think someone thought they could clean it up. Perhaps someone thought that maybe it was too busy of a page. It is cleaned up so to speak but in a negative way. It reads overly simplified imo.

You can change that in the review settings.

That's still there on the last book move. You may have to scroll the coach speech bubble to see it.

Yeah sorry, I overlooked that, as I had to scroll the speach bubble - which isn't very intuitive when it comes to speech bubbles grin
Anywho - It's nice to see your win rate... but I mean, in your example here, that does not mean that you have a 54% lose-rate, as the draw games need to be included as well. So it would be very helpful to see all three metrics.

Yep, I encountered this yesterday for the first time. The new game review is absolute horrible and useless. I will not renew my membership if this stays like this. Moreover, I will not come back to this site again and use Lichess only. The disrespect from chess.com is absurd.

Yesterday I wanted to review my game but it was not possible. Let alone the stupid *[enter time] match* button below the review. I hit it by accident and almost was in a game that I didn't want, thank god I could abort.

Also, I am wondering how this could happen. Image:

*It's 13.30h, and the boss (B) yells: "everyone at the meeting room now!". After half an hour, when everybody is settled B begins. "You know why we are here?!" "noooooo". "It is because we want to change the game review." Nerd in the background: "yeah great, we make it better and the review will be more realistic!!!" B: "wroooooong! We are going to downgrade it. It cost less money and those suckers paying yearly will not even notice". Team: "but......". B: "this is what we are going to do! Like it or leave it!"

And so it began.

the old game review was more detailed and more informative with the percentage when it comes to explaining the openings you used and immediately showing the right moves when making inaccuracies. the new game review is, with respect, is not that good.

Agreed. They employ people to make changes just for the sake of making changes. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Terrible design.

same here
