Magnus Carlsen hung mate in one in a blitz game. Kramnik did it in rapid. If those guys can do it, anyone can.

EDIT I: I forgot to mention it's a 10 second hyper-bullet chess game.
CONCLUSION: Falling for mate in 1 is probably easier if you're running out of time.
