hi- first of all, sorry about all english syntax and language errors i will do ; my native language is french and i'm trying my best to communicate in english

i am not a good chess player. but i've been studying and playing the game seriously for almost 2 years and i've start to analyse my games as much as my skills let me to. i use Rybka to review my analysises.

I've been to the Pi Cafe today, and i played some blitz game with a friend of mine. The temperature was really hot today, and we played these games outside, drinking cold soda.

I won't give you guys the whole game because it's a blitz game, and to be honest i don't have enough motivation to replay the whole game on there, But here's the position.

it's black's turn. in the actual game, he was on time pressure, blundered and lost his queen.

What is the best move black coulde have done ?
Who has the best position ?

Nxc6 is best here discovered attack on queen and it forks queen and rook,

I like whites position, and if it were white to move, there is the obvious dandy looking tactic of Nxf5 winning the queen with the dark bishop... Overall white's bishops are clearly superior, and there the material advantage of the knight, so I don't think that black stands much of a chance.

But to answer your question about the best move for black I think that Kg8 might be the way to go in order to avoid the nasty pin and some tactics.

i didnt see that forgot that the discovered attack works in all cases with a knight move here thanx but realy all you gain is 4 pawns worth of material, and his king can move if this turns into an endgame his king negates your advantage because in an endgame the fighting value of the king is arround 4 pawns

blacks best move is Kf7

Yea. if black does not do anything about his queen and the pin. he loses the lady.
But according to the fact it's black turn - he can do something.

I've analysed all queen moves and they are losing. He needs to move his king. Defending playing Rf6 with exchange sac would be useless.

I've also opted for kg8 as black's best move. kf7 would blocks his rook and get in the game blocking his piece's activity. I will work on some variation and post later. Your reviews and suggestions are more than welcome.

cool kg8 was another option i found but i feel the king is very valuable as a fighting piece

i guess it depends on how player feels to play the position.

I love to give my pieces the most options possible - i play a lot of positional move only to give my pieces more options and squares to go at - creating some sort of new possibilities for the future.
that is why i would not play kf7 - it restrains too many options to my pieces.

But like i said, this is where the beauty of chess is. You can do whatever the hell you want with your pieces.

Amen that what is sometimes missing from the game, the methodical freak who then throws a wild sac for fun and ends up winning

i am not a player that really likes to attack. I still always look at all possible sacrifices - but never dare to execute them - i also always look at all possible sacrifices and exchange sac my opponent can do .

People get caughts by sacrificial launches because they do not always look at all possibilities -it's my case at least - most time they do not fully understand what is the relation between the pieces on the board and don't understand what it does when they move a given piece.

black has a losing position, I would think.

kf7 looks bad as the king is then pinned by the rook at f1 while blocking the effectiveness of his own rook at f8,  thus threatening to further degrade an already awful situation. No matter what he does he loses a piece, if Kg8 the white plays NxC7. At least that is what I see.

cant see the last one but any way you cut it black loses a rook
