Why wouldn't it be? It's only available for correspondence chess ("Daily" or whatever nonsense Erik is calling it these days). A case could be made that failure to use the analysis is bad sportsmanship since you aren't giving an opponent your best game.
Is using the Analysis Board good sportsmanship?

- I disagree with baddogno ...Using an analysis tool during an active game (particularly if your opponent is unaware of it!) is cheating! ...The purpose of the analysis board is to help you improve your game by showing you alternate moves that you could have made ...It's a teaching aid, nothing more ...& Is NOT intended to assist you in CHOOSING one move over another during an ongoing game & the use of it as such is cheating

It is forbidden for daily games. If the site is working correctly, it will not continue an analysis that coincides with a game you have in progress. It will tell you.

We're not talking computer analysis here, just the analysis board.

TROLL ALERT!
Quoting rules of the site is trolling? The analysis board IS a computer.

so regarding daily games, you can use databases, and books. A database is not an analysis board.

In traditional "correspondence chess" one would naturally have a board set up to enable you to play. Is this not an analysis board? The fact that the board is set up on a computer makes little difference except it's more convenient to store and explore alternative lines. What's the problem? It's available and free!

The rules could be written clearer.
It explicitly forbids use of "programs" (which might not be obvious to everybody meaning engines and not including a passive analysis board).

the analysis board is the one which does not use an engine. It only displays itself in daily chess games. And it only enables you to make moves in which you explored yourself and not an engine. so it is legitimate.

Classical like when Romans were playing it, or "classic" like when you and your cousin played that one time?

How is using the analysis board different from playing out variations on a real chess set? If is recommending better moves then I think that is cheating.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Analysis board is a board in which you try your moves. It's not engine. It's perfectly legitimate in all kinds of correspondence chess either online daily games or e-mail games or any other. It's not allowed in any kind of real time chess.
‘This is just careless use of the term analysis board. If I am on chess.com, which we can presume the user is since they are posting here, and I click analysis, as soon as I move one piece, the engine lights up with activity.
if that isn’t what the poster was referring to then he’s just an idiot since playing daily games here—innacurately referred to by many as correspondence—allows you analyze right in the middle of the game, but with no engine. Do you even use this sight?
Is the chess.com analysis board a legitimate way to analyze a game in progress?
So by use analysis board, what do you exactly mean? And in what kind of games ?

How is using the analysis board different from playing out variations on a real chess set? If is recommending better moves then I think that is cheating.
You're implying playing out variations on a real chess set involves the set recommending better moves.
This topic has so many layers of crazy.
(I guess the two sentences are addressing two different ideas, one that the analysis board is mundane, and the other that you suspect blatant cheating might be against the rules, but even then...)
