Manual Analysis: Ruy Lopez, Bernstein Variation

So I played this 45/45 game a couple of days ago, and I found it very interesting. The position after the opening was fairly equal in my opinion. Then I went for the wrong plan and black got counterplay and a better position. Still, I managed to hold the draw in the endgame.

I would really appreciate your opinion about the game. I didn't use a computer for this analysis (only Opening Explorer for my 8th move). Please take a look and share your knowledge!

Now, talking about the game 8) why didn't you play Rfe1? I like Rfe1, c3 followed by Bc2.12) Why not go for Ng5 targeting e6 and e4 at the same time? if Nxe6 is allowed in that line, black can not castle. 14) I think you should have played Bg5, actually I do not have a reason behind this move, just making it.20) was it wrong to push f4, it would have forced knight to move and you bring Rad1.

Just annotate the .pgn file manually via notepad, comments are enclosed in curly brackets{} and variations in parenthesis ().
