Hi folks

First time posting so I hope this is alright.

I'd appreciate you're input with these 3 blunders I made that aren't immediately obvious to me...

No 1. Not taking the immediate pawn capture

No 2. Retreat the rooks

No 3. Trading knights

Can anybody explain why either of these 3 best moves are better than the blunders I made?

Much appreciated.

1: After fxe4 Qh4+ you have problems. If you play g3 Qxe4+ picks up your rook. If you play Ke2 you lose castling rights and black plays e.g. Qxe4+.

2. your rook on e6 is attacked. You need to either defend it or retreat it.

3. after O-O Nxf6 you are pretty much forced to trade queens or play very risky with gxf6. Nxd4 lets you keep the queens on the board which is probably good for you, since you can get your king to safety by castling a lot quicker than black.

The third one is obviously not a blunder, though the kingside home is broken into bits.

I think its obvious from the first two, especially the second, that you need to practice tactics.  Your a premium member, and I believe chess.com has recently improved its tactics training, so you should hit that hard.  Chesstempo.com has an excellent free account you could look at as well.
