One of my first positional games
I don't think you should dismiss 16. Ng5 as "questionable"--what else would you have done? Your bishop was stuck, your other Knight was worthless, and your rooks needed some help getting past Black's pawn structure.
16. Qe1, maybe?
I look forward to playing more 1.d4 games with a closed center. Now that I think about it almost all of my games are tactical...
Any advice on better moves for me, or comments in general would be appreciated
. I played this while at work (shhhh!) and it only lasted maybe 10 minutes, so I think I would've thought through my attack and not have sacrificed the two pieces (which ended up working, however lucky I might've been).
Regardless, it was a fun game for me, and I hope you enjoyed looking it over.
