One of my first positional games

This is an interesting positional game that I played earlier today on my cell phone.  I got lucky, as my attack wasn't thought out well enough and could've been thwarted with the correct move by black, in which my disadvantage materially would've cost me the game (most likely).

I look forward to playing more 1.d4 games with a closed center.  Now that I think about it almost all of my games are tactical...

Any advice on better moves for me, or comments in general would be appreciated Smile.  I played this while at work (shhhh!) and it only lasted maybe 10 minutes, so I think I would've thought through my attack and not have sacrificed the two pieces (which ended up working, however lucky I might've been).

Regardless, it was a fun game for me, and I hope you enjoyed looking it over.

Typical of a 'computer' game - but well played

You questioned your castle, however I believe there is a rush to castle even though your king is not under attack.  There was one minor piece in between your rooks, which leads to them connecting (I feel much safer with my rooks connected early).  But yes, typical computer.

i like having my rooks connected as well, the security of it is great, nice attack on it though, i do the same thing myself, for instance the game i posted against erik i sacked a bishop to get rid of the h7 pawn, wasnt too good of a move in hindisight but he blundered later on, but anyways very well played game on ur part

I don't think you should dismiss 16. Ng5 as "questionable"--what else would you have done? Your bishop was stuck, your other Knight was worthless, and your rooks needed some help getting past Black's pawn structure.

16. Qe1, maybe?

this was a nice game.. but when i tried to castle on the queenside, i usually felt nervous..hehe... but i think your opponent was not good enough for you because he/she didnt mind when you destroyed his kingside..

that was the most garbage dutch defense I have ever seen. I mean 3.. d5? what the hell is that? Much better is 3... e6. By far.
