Painful loss

I was holding my own against a higher ranked opponent.  I blundered and got mated, but it was a close struggle. I like a couple things I did here, but I'm sure I missed opportunities and made some mistakes. As always, I appreciate any comments!

I thought the game was exciting. I like 18. Qf1 better than Bxf7+

I think you should have taken the perpetual once the queen penetrated your position, did you see this possibility? 

I didn't specifically see the possibility, but also I was not looking for it. At this point, I felt like the outcome was still uncertain. You are probably right, though. My king is in danger and the position is even at best.

On move 10, instead of a3? should have played e5 de de Nd7 B:f7

24. Nxd6+ would have been nice.
