Please analyze my recent games and tell me what my weaknesses and strengths are

Hi, I quit chess for a little bit and then I decided to rejoin the community. Can someone please take a look at a couple of my recent games and tell me where my weaknesses are? At the moment, I think my weaknesses are my ability to recognize positions where my opponent can play tactics (ironically, I am pretty decent and spotting certain tactics which are in my favor) and endgame. On the other hand, a strength which I believe I have is the ability to attack.

corum

I just analysed one of your recent games. You played the opening really badly and didn't seem to have much idea of opening principles or the concept of development. You quickly found yourself in an inferior position. However, after that you played quite aggressively which was the right thing to do. You had nothing to lose. And you put so much pressure on white that they cracked and made some bad errors. You ended up with a forced win. But just as you were about to finish the game you played a strange move (29. ... Qxb4 when 29. ... Qd6 would have been an easy win). You were then a little unlucky to have your queen skewered like a pig. Overall, an entertaining play in which you played some surprisingly weak moves but showed huge attacking potential. I think your self-evaluation may be right.

Hi there, if you can a pick a game that you liked or want analyzed and send me that game I’ll analyze on my YouTube channel Exclam Chess

Hello, I checked out your Youtube channel (I subbed) and there appears to be very high quality videos posted on it, especially considering your low subscriber count. There are two games which I think would make for a good analysis; you can choose either of them or both:

Please note that during the last moves of both games, I was low on time and could not make the most optimal moves. I will annotate whichever game you pick, if you would like. Thank you for giving up your time to help me. Sorry for giving you such low quality games, but I hope that your analysis will help increase my skills in chess.

corum gives a great analysis!

Also this is very important: don't ask someone to analyse a game that you won. It's very counterproductive, because you'll just brush off any criticism you receive as "yeah maybe I could've done that better, but oh well, I still won", and you'll continue to make the same mistakes again, the next game.

This happens with everyone. We just don't learn lessons from our victories. It's a psychological barrier which very few people can overcome.

It's the losses that actually help you improve. You need to feel the pain of making a mistake and having someone destroy you for it, before it really sinks in that you must change your style of play.

Deranged is correct.

Words of wisdom indeed. It can be brutal, but you simply have to look at your losses.

Hey thanks for the sub! I've been trying to grow my channel and your sub helps, if you know anyone that like chess and wants to improve let them know about me. Don't worry about the skill level, the point of my channel is to learn. I think I may start with the first game since there is opposite side castling, if you have some notes to add for that game it would help you get the most out of it.

Yes, I thanked Corum with a private message. I will keep that in mind for next time I get a game analysis. My main reason for asking the first game is to see whether I played the Sicilian Defense correctly as white, mostly because I have little formal knowledge of opening sequences past the first couple of moves. As for the second game, I wanted to see if I defended my position correctly amid a tough position.

Edit: On the notes for my analysis, I stated that the queenside castle put my king and queen on the same diagonal. I meant to say rook and queen.
