I WAS getting sandbagged to 1500! It turns out that all those years I spent training in tactics when I quit playing have made me an 1800! I couldn't believe it at first, but after 63 games. I'm still holding steady and beating 1800s regularly now that ALL of my opponents are RANDOM!

At least the very first player, a 1700, I beat when I first started playing sandbagged me when ALL of my opponents after him were 1700s until my rating was beat down to 1300s. I found it odd too that EVERY time I tried to play at Chess Tempo, my first 3 games were always as black! All the sandbagging and playing frustrated helped keep me at 1500, but now that I've started from scratch, I'm back up into the low 1800s after climbing BACK up from 1700s a second. 

It seems like my competition is actually easier much of the time, not going into wild little side variations and playing more solid and predictable moves... even passive at times by my kamikaze standards. 

I'm sooooo proud to have beaten an 1818 AS an 1818 in this 13 move king's gambit cunninham game. It's my current favorite game, especially after someone stole the notation from the time I beat chessmaster (tal) after flipping sides after 1.e4 d5 2.d4 e5 3.dxe5?? that allows 3...dxe4 4.Qxd8+ Kxd8 which is what I played to beat the program on an old early 90s system, but this is with a much better rating. I thought it'd take me years to get to 1800.
