Question about post-game analysis

I know that I blundered bad as usual in blitz games, but I have a few questions about the london

I'm trying to learn the system and what to do with the dark bishop, because he always gets the door slammed shut behind him in most lines leaving him out to fend for himself.

Questions: Is a trade of dark squared bishops ideal for white in  the london in most situations?

Why did the engine tell me to sacrifice my  doubled pawn on move 9?

Thanks

Because if you take the g pawn, you lose the h7 pawn.

Don't know about most situations but in you concrete situation it's certainly very good because black's remaing bishop is bad plus the e5-square is now quite weak. Black then makes things even worse for himself by opening the h-file for you and castling directly into the attack which you could have launched with g4.
