Question Regarding a move

According to the game analysis engine, the best move for black to make with the board is Nxe4.

The follow up best lines indicate that white does not take the knight with the bishop. I'm confused about what's stopping white from taking the knight with the bishop, followed by black takes bishop with pawn and rook takes pawn.

I'm obviously missing something, but why exactly doesn't white take knight with bishop if Nxe4?

Remember, chess isn't checkers! Just because you can take something doesn't mean you must take it. White's Bc2 is a powerful piece, pointing at Black's kingside, White doesn't want to swap it for the knight on e4. White can play Nb1d2 instead trade a knight instead

A bishop is worth more than a knight.
It is better to play a piece that is not yet into play: 2 Nbd2 than to play again with Bc2 who already has made several moves.

Well a pawn is still a pawn. So I would also had taken.
