it's an ANNOYING TOOTHLESS defense that allows 2.e5 and I DESPISE IT!

I quit playing over a decade ago because of that and the even more gummy stonewall

I'm okay with 2.e5,... it goes into an advanced Caro Kann after Bf5 and e6.

2...Bf4 and 2...c5 are the main replies. I don't care... if i wanted to play a carokann, french or sicilian, that's what I'd play. i play the sicilian variation. it doesn't matter WHAT variation one plays. a pawn on e5 is simply intolerable to me. I'm an Nf6/Bc5 lover, and if there's a semi-open f file, I'm a happy camper

i can't stand closed positions at all. that's why the scandinavian advance and "slav-wall" drove me to quit playing chess over a decade ago, especially because NO ONE would listen to my begging and pleading to create a tree based book editor & trainer.

uppity chessbase can stick their variations within variations crap and rotate on it. i despise that company after it gave me a super snotty "it's not our job to teach you how to create a folder!" reply to my inability to use their program because that wasn't covered in the instructions.

LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LOUSY VARIATIONS WITHIN VARIATIONS notation.

if I could learn the roussea & jaenish schliemann etc. i'm sure I'd be much happier playing AGGRESSIVE open lines and never have to worry about e5 ever again. it bothers me THAT MUCH

my stats in it are 50:46 which isn't terrible, but i just don't like having to wiggle through pawns in closed positions. ugh the pawn chaining in that variation too! I despise it

I do so love FACING the scandinavian and trashing it with the gedult BDG though

I was actually kind of thinking to learn the scandinavian because I hate facing it, so my opponent told me last weekend that if I hate it so much, I should start playing it and use it myself. He's not wrong there and got me thinking about it

I tried it but my opponents declined it with 2. d4, so I'm playing the Caro-Kann instead lol.
